Welcome to the Jungle is a participatory project developed by the dancer and choreographer Elisabeth Schilling in collaboration with the sound designer Jan Paul Werge and the costume designer Lynn Scheidweiler.

This project invites anyone interested and aged 14 and over to explore the power of nature through movement and participate in the creation of a choreography. During several meetings, amateur dancers of all levels will discover the jungle, its sounds, smells and textures, in the context of a collaborative artistic creation. The project consists of several dance workshops, rehearsals, and the two days of final performances.

The workshops are held in French, German, Luxembourgish and English.

Florescence in Decay

a new group piece for nine dancers choreographed by Elisabeth Schilling will be premiered and performed on the
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
23rd – 25th of March 2023 at the Grand Théâtre Luxembourg.
  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Florescence in Decay explores the sonic and dynamic textures of our worlds and their complex patterns of change. In an environment of mutual immersion, the dancers sense their relations, ceaselessly making and unmaking them, creating temporary communities. Across the seasons, there is florescence as well as decay.

On the 13th of January at 6 pm. the PRISMA piece will be performed by Elisabeth as part of her residency at Tanzhaus Zürich.
She will be dancing the first book of Etudes for Piano by György Ligeti, celebrating his 100th birthday this year. The work is a culmination of 12 years of research around his music and its various inspirations. Elisabeth works with textures, polyrhythms, clocks and clouds. Movement in time and space – not more, not less.

We are happy to announce that Elisabeth Schilling and Albenq Petrovic were awarded with Portfolio Grant by the Kultur|lx.

The grant will be usedt to publish a detailed analysis of the music ~ dance relationship in our creation HEAR EYES MOVE. Dances with Ligeti. This publication will celebrate the 100th anniversary of composer György Ligeti 2023!

Our associate dance scholar and musicologist Prof. Dr. Stephanie Schroedter will be comissioned with this task since she is one of the very few academics who are specialists in both fields. She joined the process since the earliest rehearsals and we are very excited that she agreed to writing in depth about the piece.

We believe it to be crucial to write about dance to make the multi-layered complexity and ephemeral identity of this art form accessible beyond the experience of witnessing a performance. We are grateful for the chance to create this workbook, which gives the precious opportunity to share all research, drawings, starting points and imagery with you all.
