Florescence in Decay workshops

Florescence in Decay evokes the intricate, inseparable bond between humanity and the vegetal world, emphasizing our shared existence within nature’s vast web of life. It explores themes of cyclicality, natural metamorphosis, and mutual interconnectedness, revealing how every gesture reverberates across the whole system, with every action carrying consequence.
Drawing inspiration from the structures and textures of both living and non-living forms—stones, algae, corals, lichens, fungi, and more—the piece weaves these elements into a swirl of becoming, a dynamic process of continuous creative evolution.

Engaging with layers of time that extend both within and beyond the human scale, Florescence in Decay reveals the rhythms of a world mirroring our own, where metamorphosis and cycles reign: becoming and dissolving, growing and maturing, transience and renewal.

The Workshop

After a warm-up by Marla King, she will introduce you into the creative world of Florescence in Decay. Introducing the choreographic enquiry by leading the participants into a research on textures and rhythms, creating movements based on imagery as well as music, she will then teach some repertoire of Florescence in Decay.

The workshop is designed for all ages and abilities. Everyone is welcome!
