Collaboration with Boston Dance Theatre

CONCEPT

Jessie Jeanne Stinnett is the Founder and Co-Director of Boston Dance Theater, where she creates contemporary works grounded in ecological inquiry, music, and rigorous collaborative processes.

Elisabeth Schilling is a choreographer and Associate Artist of the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg. Her practice centers on transdisciplinary creation, sensorial experience, and an ongoing inquiry into interconnectivity between bodies, sound, space, and the living world.

Together, Schilling and Stinnett are developing a new artistic project inspired by the world and thinking of Hildegard von Bingen.

WHY HILDEGARD

Hildegard von Bingen emerges as a point of reference not only as a remarkable historical figure and a visionary woman of her time, but for her concept of viriditas – the vital life force understood to animate all living things. Her thinking proposes a cosmology in which nature, spirituality, and creativity are inseparable, offering a holistic worldview that remains strikingly resonant in contemporary discourse.
