For our new production at Philharmonie Luxembourg 2025, we are looking for 15 children, aged 7 to 12, ideally with prior dance and stage experience, to take part in the creation of The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns.

The performances will be held on the Grand Auditorium stage at the Philharmonie, where the young dancers will perform alongside the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Choreographer Elisabeth Schilling will work closely with the participants, guiding them from the start of rehearsals through to the two performances on January 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM and February 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

Friday, 03.01.2025: 10:00 – 13:00

Saturday, 04.01.2025: 10:00 – 13:00

Sunday, 05.01.2025: 10:00 – 13:00, 14:00 – 16:30 (the afternoon rehearsal is only for kids dancing a solo)

Monday, 06.01.2025: 17:00 – 20:00

Tuesday, 07.01.2025: 17:00 – 19:00

Sunday, 19.01.2025: 10:00 – 13:00

Sunday, 26.01.2025: 10:00 – 13:00

Tuesday, 28.01.2025: 17:00 – 20:00

Thursday, 30.01.2025: 15:00 – 18:00 (general rehearsal)

Performances: Friday, 31.01.2025, at 10:00 & Saturday, 01.02.2025, at 11:00

Important Details:

The concerts will be streamed on the Education Ministry’s website and the Philharmonie’s YouTube channel, so we’ll need signed permission from parents.

For the missed school day on January 31, 2025, the Philharmonie will provide a participation certificate to excuse the absence.
